Day 13 - Last Ride of the Trip
Pattaya to Sananwan Palace
It was time to leave the condo. The juristic manager was aware of what had happened and wished me luck I'd get back to China somehow while he would find customers for the condo. Let's hope.
I set off on a very familiar route north and it was tailwinds and great conditions. The cycling towards a destination took my mind off all the recent stress and at least I knew there was some closure that I could successfully abandon the China visa application in Bangkok.

During the bike ride I came up with a contingency plan that I'd book a flight to Hong Kong tomorrow night and apply for the Chinese visa there with an agency I had used before.
If you pay big bucks to a private visa agency they probably have some connections with visa officials who can speed up the process by paying extra "fees". The application in Bangkok was just a regular common one, no extra fees or express service so I learned from that lesson: money talks.
The biking back to the Sananwan Palace continued to be awesome and once again the awesome hosts stored the Montage for me and I would be out of Thailand the next day.

As always happens, someone cool was flying in just as I was flying out. A real interesting guy and gung-ho about Thailand would be starting a two week trip. I tried to be nice and humorous about how my trip had gone over the last two months. We got along well. But I think he understood my take on things.
I relayed all the highlights and lowlights. He was dumbfounded and asked "Did all this really happen?" I said "Brother we need to talk."
The taxi picked me up and I successfully got my passport back without a visa in it. There was a service fee of 900 baht. Then it was off to the airport.
Today's ride: 115 km (71 miles)
Total: 2,500 km (1,553 miles)
