Day 11 - Ayutthaya Success

I wanted to get cracking on some bureaucracy today but it would have to wait since it was the Queen's birthday celebration.   No matter then it would be an excellent day to redo the ride to Ayutthaya.

Not much traffic on a public holiday

Weather and road conditions couldn't have been any better.  The main holdup was the bike, this time a mechanical failure of the derailleur hanger being mangled due to careless airline staff.  It's one of the biggest beefs I have with taking the bike on airlines and why I try to avoid if at all possible.  The gears on the Montague could still shift but I was stuck in the middle sprocket for now until I could get it fixed.  With no bike shops open either it would have to wait until tomorrow.

It was a really fabulous ride to Ayutthaya and I sailed along this time and finished with plenty of time and energy to spare.  Then I enjoyed some celebration meals and caught the train back.  The train was slam packed since it was a public holiday coming to an end but I found ways to get the bike on there.

Today's ride: 90 km (56 miles)
Total: 2,155 km (1,338 miles)
