Kenmare
the R 573
We gingerly pedal back a kilometer to a junction where a side road hugs the coast - the R 573.

The drizzle isn't too bad. Clouds hover low. The sea is calm. There's nobody around and we ride and admire the view that still looks great even in this grimness.
The road then meanders through trees and eventually connects back to the R 571, which delivers us in to Kenmare where we decide to stay a night. It seems a nice place to be; there's a buzz to it.
We have a nice room in a guesthouse at the top end of the town's main street and walk down its pavement looking in the shop windows once we've changed into our regular clothes.
Debbie wants a woolen sweater, but they are all too big. She ends up with some discounted silver earrings that have Celtic patterns.
In the evening we listen to a guitarist sing in one of the town's packed pubs. More pints of Guinness, sat on bar stools. Kenmare is a tourism hot-spot. We're tourists. We fit right in.
Today's ride: 30 km (19 miles)
Total: 222 km (138 miles)
