Tilari Wadi to Shiroda
I thought that today would be much easier than the one before but again I had to rely on RWGPS as my map had little detail. I had managed to get a few minutes wifi time in the village the previous evening and the RWGPS route looked like it had just one track with a 600ft climb early on. The track was a PuRi….Push and Ride…. soft sand and rocks, and took me more into the hills than I really wanted to be. There were paw prints in the dust by the roadside that looked too large for a dog but were not oxen. The first 5 miles took about an hour when I reached a locked gate. I could see people inside but they would not let me through so it meant a slow backtrack to the main road below.

I headed West and North until I found roadsigns to the Maharastran coast. Passing a gated work area three dogs dashed out. The two on my right were barking so I could hear where they were but the one on my left was making less noise and putting his effort into running. Luckily the road was slightly downslope but I was surprised how far and how fast I had to ride to loose the silent dog.
I was riding later than normal and the sun was strong so I put on full battledress to give me sun protection.
Passing over a bridge I could see oxen wallowing below.
I finally reached the coast at Shiroda, found a Lodge and rode the bike to the beach for a quick dip and the traditional sandy beach photo.
Today's ride: 59 miles (95 km)
Total: 469 miles (755 km)
