Rest day at Shiroda

The last couple of days have tired me out so I am staying another night at Shiroda.  It is a small Maharastran town with a market and a few eating places but little else.

I went for a local ride in the afternoon to the Goan border and Redi Fort and on leaving the hotel I realised that my gloves were missing.  I must have left them loose on a pannier yesterday and they fell off.   All I could find as replacements are some half arm length fabric sleeves with holes for my thumbs to keep them pulled down over the backs of my hands.  They are designed to stay cool if soaked in water but look like something from Come Dancing!

While riding today, as I pulled off the road the rear wheel locked up.  A stick had somehow thrown itself through the spokes.  Luckily it happened just as I was stopping on loose stones so there was no damage to the bike, but I have never had that happen before.

I am not sure if I will get a phone signal the next few days so may have to rely on wifi when available.

Today's ride: 14 miles (23 km)
Total: 483 miles (777 km)
