Purnagad to Malgund
Finally met others from UK - a couple from London who are cycling South to Goa and further South from there. I am riding against the cycling tide by going Northwards but it does seem easier having the sun behind me. They were the first people from UK that I have met since Mumbai.
Today I had to go through Ratnagiri (wonderful name) which for a short distance was as busy as expected. Breakfast place served fresh piping hot potato vada.

Fantastic coastal road to Ganpatipule but busy with Indian tourists as Sunday.
Ganpatipule was busy, busy, busy so I carried on to Malgund, checking out places to stay. It all seemed full or very expensive but I found a room at Coconut Beach resort for Rs1000. A dual paratrike is flying customers from the beach.

Another cyclist just rode past, Michael from Denmark. Been on the road for 5 years and seemed very happy. He had just travelled South from Nepal, using some busses on the way. He was carrying a lot of gear, warm clothes, tent etc, and had been free camping some nights.
Today's ride: 39 miles (63 km)
Total: 661 miles (1,064 km)
