Malwan to Vijayadurg

I stayed on NH4 heading North from Malwan and met a group of Indian cyclists coming the other way.  They had no luggage so must have had a back up vehicle.

Reversed front fork on white bike…

Bill ShaneyfeltMust be awfully twitchy!

Possibly whoever assembled it did not know. I wonder about the disk brake setup too.

Andy BuchanHi Bill, Definitely not right but not something that had accidentally been done I think. He was in a group of 7 riders with a tour leader and they had ridden around 300 miles so others must have noticed. If I had seen a fault like a cracked frame etc I would always say .
Regards
Andy

Why the front bike has had it’s forks reversed I can not imagine.  The steering geometry would be significantly altered and it would be easy to catch a toe against the front wheel….

The beaches and waterways North of Malwan are beautiful and it is now after Festival time so there are few Indian tourists (and zero European).

I decided to press onto Vijayadurg as today is Friday and I thought it might be quieter than at the weekend.  Apart from school groups it was and I got a room next to the Fort overlooking the harbour.

The Fort is very solidly built and once it had cannon the occupiers could stop ships entering the inland waterways.  The estuary is only about 1/2 mile wide but it will be a 20 mile cycle ride to get around to the other side tomorrow.  No ferry.

Today's ride: 49 miles (79 km)
Total: 579 miles (932 km)
