Day 14 & 15 - Crandall Campground Waterton

Exploring Waterton

We are staying in the Crandall Campground for 3 nights. Today, day 2 in Waterton, we rode into Waterton village to get a shower, resupplied, and took a look around. Tomorrow we'll ride to a trailhead further up the mountain to do some hiking. Scenery here is very nice and the campground is quiet and has a peaceful vibe. The Grocery store in Waterton had slim pickings, but we got some items (plus a fried Chicken Dinner to go from a Diner) and we will be ready and rested to take on the last leg of our tour. We've decided after Glacier our modified final destination will be Whitefish MT.

After yesterdays wind and sprinkles, the morning air was clear as we headed back down the hill toward Waterton.

Waterton was fairly quiet. Spent the morning wandering.

Back at camp and ready to devour purchased food items.

Next day we rode up to the Red Rocks trailhead / visitor area

There were some elaborate viewing platforms and steps with railings that went to and fro on the waterfall trail. Nice!

This was further upstream from the Waterfall area. The waterfalls were not really flowing much, I'm guessing that Spring or early Summer would be much more dazzling. However, this area is really pretty and I'd like to hike here again.
