The End

This day last week I was delighted to have made it to Nydalur. Now I'm glad to have had a great few weeks and against all odds achieved a bike tour to be proud of.
As I sit for lunch 29 km west of Pormork, a distance which took me 6 hours the other day, I covered the way back in 3 hours in calm warm sunshine. There still remains 130 km of tarmac road to Reykjavik. And to think when my feet dry after this morning's river crossings, there will be no more wet feet and hopefully, no more broken spokes. I will have a few free days in Reykjavik before my flight back to Oslo.
The rest of the day was pretty lazy, 35 km to Hella, wherein the campsite has a free shower and the hot water is luxury. I spent some time shaving and getting clean. Tomorrow there are only 95 km to Reykjavik.
