A Few Words Recollection

It has been an interesting journey trawling through my writing done in my mid thirties and reliving the cycle across Iceland again, albeit from the comfort of being propped up in bed each morning with a cup of tea. It was a good rediscovery made last Autumn of the photo album and notes and be able to share it while at the same time the value of having written notes or journal of the trip in the first place which has jogged my memory. I had toyed with the idea of redoing the route, perhaps starting in the southeast and travelling northeast, a kind of Iceland end-to-end, but remembering how hard it was that day pushing all day through the sand and that dangerous river crossing two days later, I think not; suffice to say, it is a once in a lifetime trip and I wouldn't want to do it a second time. It is however a great route to have experience once and 25 years on mountain bikes are more ride-anywhere, what with chunky fat low pressure tubeless tyres and dinner plate rear cogs, the sands might be almost rideable, though I doubt it. I'm just happy with the memory.  The experience of using CycleBlaze has been very positive and I plan a bikepacking trip starting in Suffolk England in the Spring which I will have a journal for here.

Sean KaneTo Graham FinchI want to visit my Sister who lives in Cambridge and then catch a train east. I googled and came up with a Bikepacking loop around Suffolk taking in the coast and inland bridleways.
