Day 17 - Hope to Mission Hwy 7
Day after my Anniversary
Day 17 - Mission via the Fraser Valley.
Got out early today by setting my Ipad to Mountain time - smart right.
Anyway, a small pedestrian path took me across the river and to my left onto HWY 7. A cyclist I met (Ed) at the campsite in Hope told me the road was in good shape and flat. He did mention, "you have an 11-percent grade. Ummm ....
Here are a few images early in.....

Music really help pass the miles when the road is flat and empty....

Was thinking today that I wouldn't even be near here yet if my plan to go Mt Robson would have stayed on track. Makes me think, would I have made it here ....
It is sprinkling now, but I'm under cover at a convenience store! Yes. The temp is perfect so let it drizzled.
Here's my view:
Hwy 7 changed a lot along the way. (Writing after arriving in Mission BC). Wow, I had Mission all wrong, much bigger than expected. (Be kind....). I tried every trick to get a camp spot, but nothing worked - place is too big. The Legion lady told me we have a lot of homeless here, you can't camp here. The fire department said you can setup a tent here. Churches didn't answer and my warm showers contact couldn't host. It happens right. Hotel - only one in town, took me.
Here are some final images from the final 12 miles.
Toward Langley tomorrow...
Today's ride: 52 miles (84 km)
Total: 541 miles (871 km)
