It was cool in the early morning, a bit cold actually as we set about tackling the climb. I had my rain jacket on to fend off the early morning chill.
The beauty of Utah is indescribable, there was eye candy all around today, everywhere one looked.

The Escalante River valley is a little Eden.
There were some steep grades today, and I was glad for the confidence of my hydraulic disc brakes. And there was plenty of interesting geology along today's route as well.
A hard climb found Sis walking and pushing the bike. After 8 days off, then 3 days after returning to the challenge that is Utah, Sis was feeling it. But her and Doc were both enjoying the downhill runs.

Finally topping out at a scenic view, we met a family touring from Belgium. They described themselves as being “everyday cyclists” in Belgium, and said we were the first cyclists they had seen in the U.S.
Today was only 29 miles, but it had it's moments and we were glad to reach Boulder. We stayed at Pole’s Place, and it was nicer than expected from some of the reviews I saw - actually it was quite fine. Boulder is thick with tourists much of the time, and from what I was told it may be best to visit in the summer months of June, July, or August. We had lunch from a food truck that had been converted from a bus and is parked through the summer in the Anasazi Museum parking lot. There was a nice picnic area outside the museum, and it's located directly across from Pole's Place. All is well, we are prepping for tomorrow, good night y'all...
Today's ride: 29 miles (47 km)
Total: 945 miles (1,521 km)
