Day 14, Rest Day at Ely: On Pace So Far

I was glad to be staying in the annex across the street and not have to put up with the casino noise and glitz. I enjoyed the free breakfast at the Ramada, and it was much better than the "continental breakfast" they had advertised; it was actually a real hot breakfast with bacon and eggs and such. I needed that, as most recent breakfasts have been instant oatmeal at 4:00am.
Most of the day was spent working on this journal, though I did wonder down to the neighborhood market and picked up some supplies for the road.
The weather forecast for my route tomorrow is a bit disconcerting; it calls for flash floods! Thunderstorms are expected to be locally heavy in this area of Nevada. Yikes! Some internet weather sources indicate “PM Thunderstorms” so once again that means; I need to get up early, really early, and get rolling. Early beats the afternoon storms, it beats the afternoon heat, and it beats the traffic. Early just beats all, so early it is...
