The hotel we stayed at last night was great, it was relatively inexpensive, the room was large and clean, the breakfast included and we had a very good meal at the Irish Pub below it.
Today we were out of the forests and away from lakes. We were in really large scale agriculture and the cutting of the maize for silage continued in force. The small towns were fairly nondescript and apart from supermarkets in two of the largest there really were no other services that would be of use to a touring cyclist. There were reminders of the Soviet era - it is always surprising to see grey unoccupied apartment blocks in rural land and of course there were the derelict factories and rows of communist era garage. The land was undulating and it always felt good to be up among the wind turbines as they are always at the top of a hill so you know you have no more climbing to do. All this might sound as if we didn't have a great ride but we did we thoroughly enjoyed it

When we came to it Ueckermunde was absolutely gorgeous. And our hotel is attached to a brewery in the main square. We have decided to stay an extra night so we can ride further up the Baltic unloaded tomorrow. Also tomorrow is Sunday which makes things a bit tricky as we start phase 3 the Oder Neisse Radweg
Today's ride: 72 km (45 miles)
Total: 640 km (397 miles)
