Through the glorious Czech countryside to Tabor
A much harder day than we thought it would be
We knew it would be a fairly hilly day and that it was around 75km but it turned out very much more challenging than we thought it would be.
Riding along it reminded us very much of the alpine countryside in France. There were small farms, picturesque villages and sweeping views of meadows with clumps of trees in them and extensive forests - the only thing it missed were the high mountains.

We were just loving it but progress was slow we were either grinding up a steep hill or flying down another. I must say it seemed that we were largely going up. We were getting pretty tired Ken said he had no more power in his legs and I was concerned about using all the power in my battery so was conserving it as much as possible. By now we weren't appreciating the beauty of the countryside as much. We stopped at a bar and had 2 bottles of apple juice each. I don't know whether it was the apple juice or the fact that the hills seemed less punishing after that but once more we began to enjoy the beauty of the countryside. I didn't enjoy however being taken on a steep gravel road to the remains of an old castle - Ken said I would enjoy it in retrospect - I haven't yet.

It now also became clear that my battery would make it and it just did.
Tabor has a lovely old square and our hotel the Hotel Nautilus is right in the square. It's comfort is very well appreciated. We have had a handle of 'the original' Budweiser and are ready to do it all again tomorrow
Today's ride: 75 km (47 miles)
Total: 1,599 km (993 miles)
