Przewoz - Poland
A lovely easy day of cycling
Last night's meal did not work out quite as expected. When we got to the dinning room a big formal dinner party was in progress so unless we were to wait for over an hour our choices were drastically limited. We could have tomato soup or stir fried vegetables with cheese. We should have had both but chose the stir fried vegetables - they were very nice but again we had to resort to chocolate - no vodka though.
Forst is known for its roses. Riding out unlike yesterday now we were on the right track it was lovely. First fine old houses along the river then beside their famous rose park.

We were never far from the river today. On the Polish side the forest comes right down to the river and on the German side there is a fringe of arable land between the forest and the river.

One thing I have neglected to mention is that all these villages we are cycling through have a fire station which is proudly in the centre of the village. When we came to Klein Bademuesel the firemen where out in force dressed in their uniforms testing their wares by watering all the partched trees in the little park.

It was on through this beautiful countryside and as usual around 10am we stared to pass cycle tourists going the other way. This Radweg is usually ridden the opposite way we have ridden it because then you go down stream. Clearly we were in an area that is really prized for its recreation and as we approached the Spar town of Bad Muskau there were large groups of what we took to be day cyclists - one group was like a massive peloton had about a 100 riders - I felt sorry for the lady about my age who seemed to be a struggler about to fall off the back at the next hill. Some of the groups could well have been on supported tours.
Bad Muskau when we got to it is a real holiday centre. Lots of hotels - we had hoped to stay there but far too soon for us. It had a great coffee stop and there were people wobbling all over the place on their bikes. Because of all this activity there were wonderful places to stop for lunch in the forest with tables under shelters. At some time, I am not quite sure when we left the Oder, the river we have been following for so long and are now following the Neisse.

Tonight our accommodation was just over the border in the Bike Hostel. It seems great with an extremely friendly host and a great big room. He thankfully provides us with dinner so may be our chocolate laden diet will come to an end. Also coming to an end rather sadly is our time on the Oder/Neisse Radweg. We only have two more days both of which are short which perhaps we should have tried to do in one day as we are both feeling very fit for cycling
Today's ride: 56 km (35 miles)
Total: 1,126 km (699 miles)
