Today was another no Services day. I started reasonably early stopped in to McDonald's for pancakes, breakfast burritos and of course coffee. Then on I-40 for about 12 miles, then on US. 84 all day long not a difficult navigational day. Not a lot to talk about today, I rode the bike and took breaks will sitting on and guardrail, One Stop at a bar had benches outside and some shade so I sat there and had a sandwich and shot the breeze with a local guy. Pulled into the KOA, which is the only place for 40 miles. It was a climbing day as the next few days will be. It's all pretty gentle 1 or 2% some 4 or 5% but always going up, today was elevation change of 3500 feet, I'm expecting tomorrow will be more.This little jaunt to Santa Fe isn't of RT 66 today The route through Santa Fe was on the pre 1934 route.
