In transition
The second stage of the tour, which we just completed, is the easiest of the four. Not that it was all that easy - there were some quite challenging days and some significant climbs. We tried to take it easier though, with shorter days and a more relaxed pace. We wanted to regenerate a bit in preparation for the two harder stages yet to come.
The third stage, crossing northern Greece, is probably the one we’ve anticipated the most. The incredible Meteora is a destination we’ve thought longingly of for years, and is one that I never really expected we would bike to. There are also the famed Zagora Villages, Metsovo, Ionnina, and of course Corfu. And the officially closed but hopefully still cycleable Katara Pass, one of the highest paved roads in Greece.
Two weeks, 500 miles, 40,000’ of elevation gain. It should be an amazing ride.
