Hood River: Day off!

Jacinto set the alarm for 8 AM. We were both very asleep when it went off. I love rest days! We had agreed to meet Oren at 8ish for breakfast. He was at the door by 8:05. We weren't even remotely ready. We went back next door for breakfast. It is the only restaurant in the close vicinity. Breakfast was good, but service was amazingly slow. Especially given they only had 2-3 tables with people. But we were in no hurry.

Jacinto is gone to town now to have his squeaky brakes looked at. Oren is scouting a lunch spot, he has a friend coming out from Portland for lunch.

I'm doing nothing on my REST day. Life is grand.

Wind surfers playing on the Columbia River. I'm up here watching. I suspect we are both happy.

The view from the large, well kept grounds of the Vagabond Lodge. If you don't need to be right in town, the price and view can't be beat. Especially the price. Hood River is definitely a tourist town with tourist prices.

Dan Morgan hosted Oren and Jerry Harp years and years ago. Dan typically rides a fixie around Portland. Today he used a motor bike to visit. Thanks for making the trip Dan!
