Evee has a go at it

Avi and Violet will arrive on the Island soon, and will launch Sidney to Sooke on Saturday. So the equipment stands available and 21 month old Evee was game to give it a try. After closely observing Amelia and Dodie with the Weehoo on the driveway, Evelyn got herself strapped in.

It was pretty scary though, her first experience on a bike like this. With some active coaching by Sabrina, we are able to set off (down the driveway), but it only worked with Sabrina alongside and holding Evee's hand. This proved to limit our speed quite a bit! Consequently we decided to give Evee one additional year, and then try again.

But oh, we will never make enough kms this way!

Of course, this experience made it clear that Joey too would need more "classroom" training before going live in the field:

Joey is also waiting on the bench, but he is a couple of years away from the big time!

The whole team therefore adjourned to a picnic by the sea:
