Port Huron, Michigan to Port Stanley, Ontario

Another Day, Another Lake

We had to load bikes in a rented trailer to cross the Blue Water Bridge into Ontario, as bikes aren’t allowed.  Too bad, as it would have been a fun bridge to ride.  However, it is about 90 miles to Port Stanley, so we stayed in the vehicle for about half the distance.  Of course, Ken and Nancy handled the complicated logistics flawlessly.

We put gear back on the bikes in the back corner of a medical center parking lot, ready to get back on the road.

Whimsy along the road.  I especially love the frog.

Port Stanley is now a vacation destination on Lake Erie.  Hope was brave enough to go swimming.  It is the shallowest of the Great Lakes, so the warmest, but definitely not warm enough for me.

We had dinner at a beach restaurant, complete the plastic palm trees.  Santa Monica it is not.

Today's ride: 42 miles (68 km)
Total: 734 miles (1,181 km)
