Amsterdam to New York

One Week Is Not Enough

The last day has to come, one more nice ride.  I will miss starting off each morning on a new route, not quite sure what we will find.  With the exception of 22 year old Elliot, the son of our support team and our only actual young rider, we are quite sure that biking keeps us young-ish.

Morning reflections have been a constant on this trip.

We have been working our way down from Lock 35.  Here’s a boat coming through Lock 8 this morning.  We didn’t make quite to Lock 1, known as the Federal Lock, which is in Troy.

We rode through an old neighborhood in Schenectady.  George Washington slept in the big brick house, which dates to 1750.

It took us until the last day to get organized for a photo in our trip shirts.  Hope took the picture, so we don’t have quite the whole group.  Thanks, Hope.

I never know how to end my blogs, but today these posters along the trail did the job for me.

Today's ride: 37 miles (60 km)
Total: 1,342 miles (2,160 km)
