Timberline Bike & Hike
A reader asked about the level of service, food, and lodging for the riders. Timberline Bike & Hike (which took over this trip from Bubba's Pampered Pedalers in 2021) has done a good job, using an 11-person staff that accompanies us. The staff places pink arrows at key points on the pavement ahead of our travels, to help ensure we don't get lost. The staff provides water and snacks at "sag" stops every 20-25 miles. The staff's "wolfpack" guys set up the tents (when we camp) and blow up the air mattresses. There are 2 bike mechanics on the staff. I could go on, but the bottom line is that TBH provides good value for the cost of the trip.
The TBH staff is separate from Anne & Serge's catering service (Culinary Insider, Inc.) that also accompanies us and does a great job of providing breakfast and dinner (e.g., salmon tonight). Here's a photo of tonight's community tent area set up in Lockhart State Park by the "wolfpack."
