Rick and Lynn
Rick and Lynn, aged 69 and 68, and married for 27 years, live in the Ann Arbor MI area. Rick is a retired medical researcher and Lynn is associate dean for faculty affairs at the U of Michigan. After her bike accident on the road to Douglas AZ and sitting out a couple of our days, Lynn had started to ride parts of our daily routes. This morning, however, while getting into a van to be shuttled to Marfa, she hit her head enough to cause bleeding and swelling, so she was driven to an urgent-care center, which referred her to a hospital emergency room in Alpine TX. The doctor cleaned her wound and told her to not ride for a few more days. As for Rick, this is his third attempt at the cross-country ride. In 2019, he fell and broke his wrist on day 4, went to the Yuma hospital, and had to quit the trip. In 2020, he was on the "Coast-2- Covid" that ended in Tombstone.
