Eighth Day of Riding
Today's ride was slowed by headwinds and bumpy roads. Our 55-mile route to Catalina State Park took us past Picacho Peak (photo below). The mountain is known for the Battle of Picacho Peak on 4/15/1862 when Confederate and Union scouting parties engaged in the largest Civil War battle in the state of AZ.
