Deborah, one of our 35 riders, lives in Brooklyn. Her two sons, David (who has been spending some time in CA) and Ray (who lives in CO) surprised Deborah by flying to El Paso today, renting a car, and driving to Columbus NM to hold up signs rooting her on as she rode the final mile into Columbus. They're pictured below at our group dinner outside the former elementary school. Deborah is retired from her administrative position at New York University. She'll soon spend a week volunteering in Mexico for an organization she has supported for 15 years: "Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art. "
