Bisbee AZ
Our route took us up a steep climb over Mule Pass and through the cute old mining town of Bisbee.
At the top of the pass is this granite marker. On one side, it says that the road was built by prison labor in 1913-1914. On the other side, it wrongly proclaims that the site is the continental divide at 6038 feet. The true continental divide is about 120 miles east of here, at a less photogenic spot in NM.
I passed through Bisbee at 10:15 a.m., too early for lunch, so I kept on the road to Douglas.
