When we got up this morning in our tents, the temperature was only 38 degrees Fahrenheit. It made me anxious to get on the road promptly at 6:30 a.m. and generate some warmth.

As the sun rose, so did the temperatures, all the way to the 70s. Today was one of my favorite rides: 59 miles on beautiful Texas Hill Country back roads and no significant headwinds.

Here's a photo of the old vehicles outside Hillbillyz, the location of our sag stop at 40 miles. I checked in with the Timberline staff at that site and rode on to our destination for the day in Blanco TX.
