14th Day of Riding
Today was a smooth and fast 73-mile ride for most of us. But today 10 riders had flat tires (and 1 rider had 3 flats). Several of those riders needed a lift in the sag vehicle. The culprit in most cases: a small thorn called a "goat head." Sharp enough to pierce bike tires and inner tubes. So far on this trip: no flats for me.
We're still close to the Mexican border, as shown by the U.S. Customs & Border Protection facilities and vehicles we saw.
