Matteson to Demott
Goodbye Illinois; Hello Indiana
Phew - a way better day - long and the headwinds were back for the ending 12 miles but the sun was out and the scenery was good. We started on the final 4 miles of the Old Plank Trail and then 10 miles on the Thorn Creek Trail that passed through streets and woods. Well maintained paved trail that was fun to ride. In a bit after leaving Thorn Creek Trail we left Illinois and entered Indiana on the Pennsy Greenway Trail.
Then a fair amount of suburbia kind of roads with many railroad crossings.Next on to the Erie Lackawanna Trail for 7 miles. Another great paved trail. We finished up on county roads where we encountered the wind. Staying in another B&B house. Margaret made a great chile dinner. It was yummy.
Good day!
