Zhetybey to Shepte; 03/05

We packed up early and left the mosque before anyone was about, leaving a thank you note.

We arrived in Shepte and stayed in a motel on the edge of town. I had a bad stomach, possibly from a home brewed fermented rice drink I had at the cafe the night before — it tasted quite similar to dosa mix. Because of this we stayed in the motel another night, although there really wasn’t much to see in the town centre itself (although looking at Google maps, there does seem to be many of natural sights worth visiting in the area).

The motel itself was fine. No hot water in the room, although it was clean. There is a well stocked grocery store next door with fresh fruit and veg.

The only chaikhana on the road between Shetpe and Zhetybey. They even had WiFi
