Short day to Mestia. One climb up a pass, then steep decline into the town.

This was the solution to the lost bolts of the stays -- shoving the rack against an inner tube, sandwiching it against the frame. using the orange straps to secure the rack, inner tube and frame together.

Met two Russian bike packers on the way up, chatted for a bit, and met them in a cafe in town for a chat. One of them lives in St.Petersberg, and the other in Tbilisi since two years ago.

Found a very chill hostel in Ushguli and then went to the museum, which was really good. Many artefacts with ornate and intricate detailing and decorations which gives you an idea of how rich Georgia’s history is.
