Ushguli; 27th-28th August
27-28 August
We spent two days in the village of Ushguli. It’s a quaint old town dotted with many Svan towers, where cows roam the small side streets, and where there are small patches of land for crops, and some farm animals, giving it a lived in feel, despite most of its businesses dedicated to tourism.

In the morning of the 27th Neal helped adjust the rear brake. The brake itself was not returning to it's original position easily, and it felt like the cabling was a bit sticky. He suggested altering the positioning of one of the spacers on the bolt of the brake pad itself, which solved the problem by leveraging more of the spring of the brake itself.
The highlight of Ushguli was a valley heading north, at the end of which is a magnificent glacier. We did a walk up a hill next to the village, which offered brilliant views across the valley to the glacier, and then a short ridge walk along the top. Obviously we had the company of a dog along the way.
