Peja to Sarajevo, 5/5; 22nd October
22nd October
Gorazde to Sarajevo -- we chose to leave the town on a minor road which at times proved difficult due to the steep gradient -- but there was a nice fountain at the top to enjoy some cool water, and the fog during the climb added to the atmosphere.
Some brilliant views at the top combining cloud inversion with autumn colours.
The road into Sarajevo was at times uncomfortable with some fast traffic, and a few tunnels which made it hellish. We passed a few headstones of young people at the side of the road -- I can only imagine these were due to traffic collisions.
Arrived safely in Sarajevo in late afternoon before heading out into the city for the evening.

Above, memorial to British troops who died in the Balkan wars of 90s -- assuming involvement in the Siege of Gorazde.
