Murghab to Osh, (5 - 6/6); 11-12 July
5-6th July
Leaving Sary Tash there was a pass followed by a spectacular downhill with plenty of switchbacks.
On the morning we left, Mark left us his coffee as he was due to fly back from Kashgar after hitching there from Sary-Tash. We also said goodbye to Lena, Karsten (continued to Osh); Marieke and Steven (they were to visit China before returning to Kyrgystan).

We had a rest day in the town of Gulcha. On the way, we met Chris by the roadside, an American, outside a 'pub', who was sheltering from the rain. We had a couple of beers with him and exchanged tips -- he was cycling into Tajikistan, and we were going up north, where he had come from.
Not much to do in Gulcha other than drink lots of milkshake. The guesthouse was very comfortable, and the grocery store stocked with everything that a rich country would. The guesthouse owner drove a VW and theır washıng machıne was an LG, and I saw a Maseratı goıng through town -- clearly Kyrgystan has a lot more money than Tajıkıstan.
