Langar to Alichur, (4/X); 1st July

Rest day in Langar.

Met a group of Kiwi cyclists who were doing a month ish rout of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. They were pressed for time so decided to pay for a lift up to Langar. In my opinion this was a mistake as this turned into one of the most scenic sections of road of the Wakhan.

In the evening, I also played a game of chess with the local kids which was fun, using the roll up chess matt mum had sent us to Dushanbe. Unfortunatley I lost.

Homestay lady cooked us this dish, a traditional Pamir dish. However, it was a bit too much yoguhrt for me, so I could only finish a few spoonfuls.

I threw away my attempts to learn the Cyrilic alpabet in Langar. By then I could make out the streetsigns and say a few words in Russian, but I do regret not learning more before the trip
