Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa; 23rd - 28th September

The only broken part of the bike was the rim. There is a shop in Istanbul that services Rohloff hubs, so we were hopefully they would also be able to source a rim. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible, they had no rims in stock (or suitable spokes).

We ordered a Ryde Andra 30 rim and spokes from SJS Cycles to Istanbul -- as it would take at least a week, we decided to stay in Gaziantep and also visit nearby Sanliurfa by bus.

Zeugma Mosaic Museum

Really enjoyed this museum -- the mosaics were found in a village not too far from Gaziantep and painstakingly transported to the city

Şanlıurfa

We took a bus to Sanliurfa

Local bus, very swish with aircon and contactless payments. Took us from the bus station out of town to the centre

Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museum

An incredible museum with a lot to see. I paid attention in the first half, but then rushed through the rest as I found it hard to concentrate for so long.
