Nantes

No riding today, so let's settle for a few pictures from our tourist afternoon in Nantes.

Accommodation: Hotel Amiral on the edge of the pedestrianized, bicycle friendly downtown. We had a family suite - two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Bicycle parking in a locked box vélo in the nearby garage. Very comfortable.

Les livres, c'est la liberté, a local tells us. Reading is freedom.

The stunning glass and iron Passage Pommeray. A 3 level shopping mall before such things were even invented.

Even before we start riding, we're sending surplus stuff home with Christoph.

Supper. Fish soup with croutons, cheese and yummy garlicky saffron mayonnaise

A bird's eye view of other peoples' dinner. Luckily our room is on the other side of the hotel.

Starting a wildlife theme. There should be more of this tomorrow.

Riding resumes tomorrow with 55+km of country roads to the coast, probably into a headwind, which likely means a good workout for the electric bike. Unless I wimp out and take the train.
