Villa Manihuales: A work day
As I suggested yesterday, beans were on the menu for supper. I got some wood from the lady who runs the campsite and we had a warm evening in the lovely refugio. The wood stove worked like a bomb and we were able to eat in comfort while the wind howled outside.
When we awoke this morning it was bitterly cold and the wind was still going like a banshee in fits and starts. It didn't take much to convince ourselves that we needed to get some work done and so we are spending an extra night here. It has turned out to be a good decision with both Leigh and I making big dents in our to-do lists.
A number of other cyclists also checked in as the day wore on - a couple of French Canadian guys (Marc and Guy, some Chileans and a young Irishman (Frank). Frank was heading north from Ushuaia and was a good source of information about conditions further south.
