Day 61: Elk Island National Park to Vermillion

Along the way today, I saw the world's largest easter egg in Vegreville. There was a campground right next to it. It looks like it would be a good place to stay.

I stayed at Vermillion Provincal Park ($21). The site was large and nice and grassy. Vermillion is the home of Becky Scott - the road to the Provincial Park is Becky Scott Way. She carried the Olypmic flame for Vermillion.

A random thought: What has changed since BC?

- the roads are flat (no more mountains)

- lots of supplies (previously I stopped and bought groceries or had a meal if there was a place to do so)

- lots of traffic (can be mitigated by picking less traveled routes)

- many options (I actually had to use a map to navigate through Edmonton. I haven't needed to do this since Vancouver.)

- roads are excellent

- improved hygiene (I shower most days now)

- I can carry less and buy snacks along the way

- breakfast now is usually cereal, milk and OJ instead of porridge because I can buy milk and OJ near camp site

There was a nice park on the east side of Vegreville. It would have been a nice place to stay.
