Day 46: Whitehorse to Teslin Lake Campground
On my way south from Whitehorse, I stopped at the Caribou RV Park to visit with Ray and Brenda one last time. I stayed for 45 minutes before I moved on. I am so grateful for all the help and encouragement they gave me. I believe that I could have completed without them, but it would have been a diminished experience.
I stopped at Johnson's Crossing for a cinnamon bun and a drink. The lady there (Leslie) recognized me as the cyclist that she helped on the cold and rainy day. She asked me where I was going and I told here Toronto. It turns out that she has a son who works in the beaches area there and she gave me his contact info and said to tell him she's doing well.
You really couldn't ask for a better day for cycling than today. I was almost sorry to see it end. I stayed at the Teslin Lake Campground ($12). Tomorrow I hope to make it to the Rancheria Lodge where I know they have a good campground with warm showers and a place where I can get a meal.
