Day 7 - to Uniontown KOA, Connellsville, PA

Miles: 58.1, Ascent: 2,226 feet, Descent: 2,161

I am off roads now and on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail which runs between Pittsburgh and Cumberland, MD. Nice to leave the traffic and noise behind. Trail is outstanding with great surface conditions.

In downtown Pittsburgh the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers meet to form the Ohio River. This is where the GAP trail starts. This is me at this point at 7:40am

Long foot/biking bridge across the river

This is Steve & Kathy. They started their tandem ride at a small campground on the Olympic peninsula in northwest Washington state on the Pacific Ocean. They were also headed to DC and then on to FL. Basically corner to corner in the US

Cool waterfall right along the trail. The color is due to iron deposits

Entrance to the West Newton bicycle campground

A little hard to see but this is the West Newton bicycle shop. Stopped here for one quick adjustment on my bike and some more air in my tires
