Hi! We are Jim and Sue from Richmond, BC. We have been riding for only a few years, and up to now our rides have been recreational around the Lower Mainland area. However, as retirement approaches for us both, we have been thinking of travelling more and thought "why not tour by bike?"

I'll admit, we thought this was a novel idea, until I found Crazy Guy and now Cycleblaze- ha! What an awakening that was!! Reading about so many people touring on bikes all over the world has inspired us so that what was once just an idea is now a firm goal.

But how to get there from here? Hence, the title of this tour - You Gotta Start Somewhere, and what better place to learn about cycle touring that on Vancouver Island, a place with beautiful scenery, a few challenging (for me!) hills, and family to visit - perfect!
