Cat Tien Birding Day One
We spent the morning birding in the national park with Thong, a really super guide who we will join again tomorrow morning.
We picked up six lifers - Oriental Pied Hornbill, Green-legged Partridge, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Scarlet Minivet and Blue-winged Pitta.
Forest birding can be really difficult, even with an experienced local guide, and we dipped out on a number of species that we got only glimpses of.
We discovered that the termites here really pack a bite !
