Wabash Trace Rail Trail
Yesterday’s journal was shorter than normal for an excellent reason, a 6 year old, a 3 1/2 year old, and an 8 month old, daughters of the daughter of some lifelong friends that we have know since the 70’s as we ended the day with a short, but wonderful visit.
Today we set our sights on the Wabash Trace Nature trail out of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The trail is a classic crushed limestone rail trail with excellent tree shade, gentle grades, and very few people. Despite the warmer mid 80’s temperatures, our ride probably stayed in the mid 70’s providing an excellent day of riding. So we simply headed south for a few hours and then turned around and headed back. Cornfields were on every side when we got a glimpse between the trees and we simply rode without any concern over cars.
