Mitchell Country Roads
Mitchell, South Dakota … we were here in 2007 as part of our Lewis and Clark trip. Mitchell saved us from a long week of cycling and some unrelenting headwinds. Today, fortunately, was much different.
We put together a route from our usual sources, TrailLink app, RidewithGPS, and the local city bike map. Mitchell is not very big and our route quickly took us around Lake Mitchell and then East into farm country. There is something about paved farm roads with no lines that is always my favorite.
We basically went east until our road turned to gravel and then turned south until the same thing happened. Eventually we made our way back to the town and road back to our starting point. Traffic was a non issue, every passing car gave us the road, and unlike the last time, the winds weren’t an issue with temperatures in the 70’s.
