High Trestle Trail
We woke to clearing skies and another day to go riding. But today was also about cycling with friends.
We first met Faith and Robbie while cycling the Erie Canal in upstate New York. Then our paths crossed again in Tucson last January where we had a chance to do a ride and then today we were able to make the connection and ride the High Trestle Trail in Iowa.
The miles simply flew by as we chatted and cycled and eventually emerged at Ankeny for lunch. We’ve both cycled in a lot of places and it was fun cycling in their home state.
The ride back went equally smooth and it seemed we were back at the High Trestle Bridge sooner than expected. One last photo op and then we both went our ways which really meant down to Des Moines where they are spending the night on the west side and we are spending the night on the east side.
