Clearmont to Ucross
Wyoming is treating us quite well, this time at least. When we were here in 1999, Wyoming was a tough sell as we had punishing tailwinds, some severe tire issues, and construction zones. But we are further north now and that seems to make the difference.
After leaving Sheridan we set our sights on Gillette but found an extremely nice road along the way. So we stopped and unloaded the trikes in Clearmont and rode back towards Ucross on excellent, resurfaced roads with almost non-existent traffic. The road was fairly level and the scenery was spectacular.
Once at Ucross which appears to be a very upscale ranch, we kept going for a bit as the road simply kept calling. Eventually we turned around and re-rode the road back enjoying the same views from a different angle.
This section of road from Sheridan to Clearmont is a must-do if you are ever in this area of Wyoming.
