Chichaqua Valley Trail
Iowa is proving itself a great cycling destination. Today we picked the Chichaqua Valley Trail east of Des Moines and weren’t disappointed. The trail was a mix of concrete and pavement and transitional,parks, farmland, and shaded tree lines.
The miles went quickly with a little elevation gain on the long, rolling hills but we had the trail almost to ourselves which was nice.
The following image really shows the combination of treeline, open fields, and a grain silo off I the distance.
