We are weary today!  Our first night back in Victoria and we end up  misjudging the time the sun gets up so we set the alarm for 6am and find that it is more than light enough to get up earlier so we are going back to 5.30am tomorrow morning.  It was a colder night, 5 degrees.  But a clear day with a top of around 20 degrees.  The wind wasn't as strong as yesterday and is blowing from the north north west.

On the road at 7.30am with 20km to Walpeup still on this Mallee highway.  There was alot more car traffic with us this morning and I assume they are heading to Ouyen (about 50km - think from Underbool) for work.

We haven't been to Walpeup for a while and we have always been meaning to get there as they have a new Silo Art which opened officially in January this year.

It was difficult to get the horse due to the position of the sun.  It is a nice one although Neil didn't like the horse in it!  that sort of takes the meaning out of the image representation!

From Walpeup with turn south and head towards Hopetoun.  Again it is a while since we have ridden this road and I forgot how undulating or rolling it is.  Despite having the wind behind us it doesn't help us when the terrain is undulating and sheltered like today and yesterday.  I think that is why we are tired in the legs from all the rolling unduations and bigger days!

Riding through here we can see the crops look alot healthier than their counterparts back in South Australia.

At about 88km we turn east to Lascelles.  This is a minor sealed road that is 1 lane wide.  Only 1 truck passed us.

This is the sort of terrain you need when you have a tailwind - out in the open.  But when doing this road we had a strong crosswind.  It is only 17km to Lascelles from this turnoff.

We have camped here before and the showers are really lovely and hot.  It is a quiet town and it does have silo art but I have seen it before and I am just too lazy to walk over and around to take a photo of it -maybe after dinner or early in the morning I will get one!

Tomorrow is Wycheproof.

Today's ride: 105 km (65 miles)
Total: 7,800 km (4,844 miles)
